Protocol Pawns allows you to play chess fully on chain via Near smart contracts and the BOS. https://chess-game.near.social I just recently published new updates to the smart contract. There aren't any new features for the users, but it's something way more valuable. It's about visibility. The problem I faced was that there was basically no user retention at all. People might have created games or challenged someone, but the odds for the opponent to react were just way too low. This is now going to change with the addition of on chain notifications via @self.social.near. You can now see whenever some challenged you, accepted your challenge or made a move.  This will hopefully have huge snowball effects, because I now also made it possible to challenge ANY wallet and not just the ones who have registered their account. However you would have to pay the storage deposit of 0.05N, if you challenge an unregistered user.  Now that this system is set up, I will start by challenging some known active Near users, which will likely see the notification and you should do so as well to compete for the highest on chain ELO rating ⚔️
