@bearmans.near [Posted on DevHub](https://near.social/#/devgovgigs.near/widget/Post?id=1328) ## Idea: Proposal for “Blog” post format for DevHub Platform ******************Problem:****************** We want to be able to post “Blogs” to DevHub, where communities can share specific news, tutorials, write-ups, etc, that correspond to the interests of their communities. We think that these should be distinct from the current “Post” feed, as they do not neatly slot in in-between other posts, and also should have other mandatory parameters that allow them to be more easily categorized, curated, and discovered. **********************************Desired Outcome:********************************** Introduce a new DevHub platform post type so we can keep blogs distinct from general posts and the idea/solution/attestation/funding paradigm. Blogs should: - ALWAYS be tied to a specific community - ALWAYS have a title - ALWAYS have a header image (default to the community header image if left blank) - Include the name of the submitting author - Include the date posted - Allow the author and associated-community admins to edit or delete - Optional: Have tags so we can “sort by tag” later - Optional: Have stars (likes) so we can “sort by most starred” later - Optional: Have comments (comments should not have children or metadata other than corresponding blog and comment author in this context) Communities should have a new tab added to their pages (next to the wikis) that returns all blogs from their community. We should also have a separate, prominent feed of blog-posts (linked to in the DevHub header bar). This feed should be in a tiled format (example format, though should be consistent with devhub themes: [https://www.neardevgov.org/blog](https://www.neardevgov.org/blog)). This feed should: - ONLY include blogs from manually “whitelisted” communities (to prevent low quality/spam from filling the feed) - Include all whitelisted community “blog” type posts, sorted by date - Optional: Include sorting/search features to show blogs by community, author, tags, stars, etc - Optional: Toggle to “show all” blogs, including those by “non-whitelisted” communities. These should not be visible by default Each community should have a new user class added “Blog Author”, which will be accounts that are allowed to post blogs for a community but community admins might not necessarily want to give full admin access. Admins should also be allowed to post blogs.
