I have recently reformed the University of Leeds Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Society. At our freshers event, I want students to be able to engage with blockchain hands-on. What better way than with NEAR through the easy onboarding of Keypom and the incentivisation of beer! ## Plan Have a QR code at our freshers stall attatched to a Keypom NFT drop, [here's a quick draft](https://ibb.co/Vp4vg5v), that allows the holder to claim a free beer at our next event. ## Funding $265 total - $15 - Keypom NFT drop costs - $250 – 50 beers at $5 a pint Please note that I am asking for this budget to be approved as an upper bound but not funded now. The actual cost is likely to be lower as I plan to strike a deal with the bar to lower the cost per pint since there could be many attendees, and not all 50 NFTs may be used. I will then post the actual cost to DevHub following the event to be funded. ## Benefit to the ecosystem For many of the NFT claimers, blockchain will be a new alien concept. With their first introduction to the space being NEAR, it will be the default platform that they turn to in the future. As we all know, students love beer, so the fact that NEAR has provided them with free beer is a great first impression. I hope this proposal can act as a cornerstone to a long and mutually beneficial relationship between the society, the university and NEAR. I welcome any help from the teams of Keypom and ShardDog to optimise and customise the NFT drop process to this specific scenario.
