@gagdiez.near [Posted on DevHub](https://near.social/#/devgovgigs.near/widget/Post?id=1566) ## Solution: Fellowship Proposal - Guillermo (aka gagdiez) This post is a fellowship proposal that follows the [DevDAO Fellowship Program](https://near.social/devgovgigs.near/widget/gigs-board.pages.Post?id=540). My name is Guillermo (aka gagdiez), and I am a Scientist, DevRel and Engineer. I've been involved in the NEAR ecosystem since 2020, both as a participant and a contributor. Since two years ago I lead the design of the NEAR documentation, where [I am one of the main contributors](https://github.com/near/docs/graphs/contributors?from=2021-10-06&to=2023-10-06&type=c) alongside Damian Parrino (aka bucanero). Besides working on docs, I have led the design and development of our official [examples](https://github.com/near-examples), the [BOS VSCode extension](https://docs.near.org/bos/dev/vscode), [create-near-app](https://github.com/near/create-near-app), [borsh-js](https://github.com/near/borsh-js), [created standards](https://github.com/near/NEPs/blob/master/neps/nep-0413.md), and contributed to a myriad of other tools, blog posts and educational material. I am a strong believer that developers want to solve meaningful problems, and our job is to help them, so our technology becomes their tools. Everyone has something to contribute, we just need to enable them. #### Focus Areas I am excited to guide contributors working on documentation, examples, blog posts, educational material, and `javascript` developer tools at all levels of the NEAR Dev Stack (e.g. all content in [docs.near.org](https://docs.near.org), and tools such as create-near-app, VSCode extension). I commit to dedicate at least 5 hours per week to guide those who actively contribute to these projects, and to respond to them within 24 hours during workdays. #### Objectives Currently, I am guiding one active contributor to build an [educational tool](https://near.org/devgovgigs.near/widget/gigs-board.pages.Post?id=959), and would like to invite one to two more part-time or full-time contributors to help improve documentation, examples and basic tooling. Here is an [overview of some of the tasks](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GnoUH6Flk-gqewQqb9Rk003gC_Rech3c27XUMTRIe74/edit) I will be carrying for the next couple of months, and in which collaboration would be greatly appreciated. #### Required Skills Ideally, the contributors would be self-sufficient, and be able to perform meaningful work with 2 hours of weekly guidance, and async conversations on discord / telegram. For developer tasks, I **DO** expect candidates to have experience in software development (in Javascript is a strong preference). For non-developer tasks, I **DO** expect candidates to have experience in the area they want to contribute to (e.g. writing, or making video tutorials). In any case, I do **NOT** expect candidates to be knowledgeable on NEAR, nor its tooling. #### Budget In all honesty, I do not want to be involved in budget conversations. I would rather focus just on the guidance aspect of the Fellowship. I would kindly ask DevHub to take on that role. From my side, I commit to remain transparent about the contributor's progress and their performance. #### Contact Me If you are looking for a fellowship leader in the areas I mentioned above, leave a comment with your public resume under this post or find me in either in [Discord](https://discord.gg/xGeBD9TdxT) or the [NEAR Dev Telegram](https://t.me/neardev) group.
