@giangg.near [Posted on DevHub](https://near.social/#/devgovgigs.near/widget/Post?id=1671) ## Idea: NEARCON Hacker Travel Stipend - giangg Greetings NEAR community, - I'm giangg - a Web2 developer, and I'm currently transitioning to the world of Web3. My chosen starting point on this journey of focusing primarily in Web3 development - is on NEAR protocol. - I have some experience in building decentralized apps using Solidity on Ethereum, and despite my experience in Rust developing Web2 backends for the past 3 years, my skills at using NEAR is still limited, with a lot of room for improvements. - I have participated in some NEAR hackathons such as the Web3 Hackfest and the Web3 coding challenge before in the past. Here are the list of projects that me and my team is building, and has built: 1. Flashui : BOS Tool (Library UI) helps users in using existing platforms for easier application development on the NEAR Protocol. (Top 1 track tool BOS ) - Link Web : https://flashui.xyz - Github repo : https://github.com/Orascie/bos-tool - BOS: https://test.near.org/bakansm.testnet/widget/OraSci 2. Near-scie: The NearScie ecosystem is a decentralized network of science solution providers, built on the BOS on NEAR Protocol, offering an innovative platform for decentralized scientific advancements. - Github repo : https://github.com/Orascie/near-scie Currently, our team is building a platform that lets users create and host hackathons on the NEAR network. With the interface developed on BOS, everyone can join the hackathons with it, participating in an open hackathon platform that we’re aiming to build. These are the core features: - **In-platform scoring for judges**: This feature will allow judges to score submissions directly on the platform, making the judging process more efficient and transparent. - **User rankings and ratings**: This feature will allow users to be ranked and rated based on their participation in hackathons. This will help to create a more competitive and engaging environment for participants. - **Transparent and reliable prize payments**: This feature will ensure that prizes are paid out to winners in a timely and transparent manner. - **Workshop and thematic discussion support in the form of mini-hackathons**: This feature will allow organizers to host workshops and thematic discussions in the form of mini-hackathons much easier. Participants can learn new skills and network with other developers easier too. We are a group of highly motivated and result-oriented individuals with a strong passion for developing and exploring blockchain technologies and hackathons. We are also quick learners and we are excited to learn new things. From all of the factors above, we are confident that with our team's skills and experience, I honestly believe that this platform could be one of the valuable projects for the NEAR ecosystem, and from there on, hackathons will be more accessible, transparent and successful. Our Vietnamese team is excited to attend NearCon in-person, to contribute and present this hackathon project to the NEAR community. However, plane tickets alone cost over $1,000 with other additional costs such as food, transportation, hotel reservations, and visa, which sums up to around ~$2600. We would be very grateful and appreciate for the additional financial support, such as the maximum grant for participating teams - to cover a part of our operation cost. We will try to cover the rest of the expenses by ourselves. Your support will help us to attend NEARCON and the hackathon as well. Total expense for the stipend: Maximum grant. Thank you for reading, and looking forward hearing from you soon. giangg
