@bo.near [Posted on DevHub](/devgovgigs.near/widget/Post?id=3090) ## Solution: Renew Fellowship - Bo ###### Requested amount: 20000 USDT ###### Requested sponsor: @neardevdao.near This post is a proposal to renew [my ongoing fellowship](https://near.social/devhub.near/widget/app?page=post&id=622), which follows the [DevDAO Fellowship Program](https://near.social/#/devgovgigs.near/widget/gigs-board.pages.Post?id=540). My name is Bo, and I am a Mathematician, Software Engineer and Team Lead at NEAR DevHub. For the past 7 months I've been mentoring people through a fellowship focused on improving our JavaScript stack. Through the course of these 7 months, the fellowship allowed me to interviewed 3 contributors and on board one, Spring Qiu. None of the money was used to pay myself or cover my contributions. The fellowship had an incredibly positive impact on workspaces-js and near-sdk-js. The contributor, Spring Qiu, consistently did a great job at Senior Software Engineer level and helped a lot in workspaces-js and near-sdk-js, allowing us to launch new releases with new features, bug fixes, as well as act on community feedback. See end of post for a summary of what we did so far. While my fellowship still has funds (as I write this, around 2k usd remain), I estimate this will last less than a month. Because of this, I would like to ask for a renewal. This will allow me to keep onboarding new contributors, as well as collaborating with the existing active ones. The fellowship will continue being used to improve our JS stack. For example, in the short term we want to focus on the 2.0 release of near-sdk-js. What we did so far - workspaces-js - release workspaces-js 3.4.0, 3.4.1 and 3.5.0 - add custom RPC support - fix port confliction on many concurrent tests - other small bugs and PR reviews - near-sdk-js - api for class auto reconstruct - borsh support - research a few other JS engines other than QuickJS - bug fixes and PR reviews For a thorough list of all the contributions, please filter posts by @spring-neardao.near.
