@trovelabs.near [Posted on DevHub](/devgovgigs.near/widget/Post?id=3200) ## Idea: Trove Labs Developer Tooling Retroactive Funding Request During a Near at Night AMA with DevHub, the Trove Labs team pointed out a lack of non-developer friendly resources available to new projects and builders for necessary web3 functions. During the “meme coin” cycle last winter, we saw multiple projects struggle with creating nep-141 tokens, facilitating airdrops, and managing token vesting/liquidity resulting in issues directly impacting projects and their communities. Recently Neko was commissioned by the NEAR foundation to create content on the nep-141 token lifecycle covering the various options in the Near ecosystem for creating a wallet, deploying an nep-141 token contract, airdropping tokens and token vesting. One of the key takeaways from the video was that there are few non-developer friendly options and even less open source repositories for the functions listed above (Besides Nep-141 token deployment). With all of the recent attention Near protocol has been receiving, it has come to our attention that Near Protocol needs more open source contracts and tutorials for developers to utilize when creating a project on NEAR. We are asking for retroactive funding for releasing 3 open-source repositories including an nep-141 token deployer, nep-141 airdrop tool, & a nep-141 token vesting contract. The airdrop tool and vesting contract were created in-house and audited by block apex. The two contracts cost us $8k (Vesting Contract) and $1k (Airdrop Tool) in dev hours alone, for a total of $9000. We are proposing a retroactive funding request for the amount of **$3000** (in Near or USDC) for open sourcing these contracts and providing instructions on deployment & use to potentially recover a portion of the development costs for these two contracts.. We believe that being able to batch send nep-141 tokens to multiple addresses simultaneously, and vesting nep-141 tokens with customizable schedules are extremely important functions missing from the Near open source repository that multiple projects on Near could benefit from.
