@infinity.near [Posted on Developer DAO Board](https://near.social/#/devgovgigs.near/widget/Post?id=322) ## Solution: Open Call for bOS Work Group Members `This post invites contributors to apply for a leadership role in the *official* group of bOS experts.` Last November, I created a forum post about the [Near Social Community Group](https://gov.near.org/t/near-social-community-group/31179) to help gather ideas for standards, components, and registries. Now I'm asking builders to join a Work Group that will make important decisions pertaining to the [blockchain operating system (bOS)](https://near.org/blog/near-announces-the-blockchain-operating-system). ### bOS Work Group Let's introduce a formal structure to make decisions about relevant issues. This Work Group will be committed to uplifting an ecosystem of bOS gateways for decentralized apps. **The community is looking for 3-7 recognized experts with experience building on NEAR.** ##### OBJECTIVES The main goal is coordinating to support developers. * Discuss and prioritize [standards](https://github.com/NearSocial/standards) for data schema * Coordinate development of [component libraries](https://near.social/#/manzanal.near/widget/CommonComponentsLibrary) * Evolve [documentation](https://discovery.near-docs.io) and produce [tutorials + guides](https://nearbuilders.com/bos) * Support launch and maintenance of [gateways](https://docs.bos.gg/intro#gateways) / [viewers](https://github.com/NearSocial/viewer) * Review bOS-related [pull requests](https://github.com/NearSocial/VM/pulls) and [funding proposals](https://near.social/#/devgovgigs.near/widget/gigs-board.pages.Boards?selectedBoardId=funding) We are intending to bring people together, learn from each other, and create solutions. The purpose of this governance system is turning ideas into implementations, and ultimately, driving adoption of the bOS. ##### REQUIREMENTS: *Members would volunteer a few hours (<10) per week to participate in group activities:* * Proactively assessing proposals and providing attestations via the Gigs Board * Disclose any conflict of interests * Responsibly recommending projects for grants and holding project leaders accountable * Attending weekly meetings and participating in discussions + decision-making processes * Communicating clearly and promptly with other Work Group members and the community * Playing nicely with others and maintaining a respectful and professional tone in all interactions ##### PROCESS: If you are interested in joining the bOS Work Group, reply to this post by 🗓️ **Tuesday, March 28.** Please include the following information: * Brief summary of your background * Statement explaining why you are interested in joining * Your experience with bOS and NEAR ecosystem * How your skills and expertise will contribute * Questions about participation Leaders of the bOS community will review submissions and establish the initial Work Group membership on-chain.
