AgorApp is a Codecademy-like browser-based interactive coding environment where users can learn about web3 domain-specific languages, web3 SDKs and frameworks, DeFi and other decentralized protocols and practice coding in real-time with a built-in code editor and a virtual blockchain. We would like to extend our environment to support Near and create a small sample course on Near smart contract development in Typescript, which we will be able to expand in the future after the scope of the current grant proposal will be completed. The grant proposal would include: - Extend the Agorapp infra to support the Near runtime in order to programmatically execute user's smart contracts - Extend the Agorapp IDE to support Near smart contract with the following features: - code autocompletion and autoformatting - syntax highlighting, type-checker and multi-tab support - Create a small course for Near smart contract development in Typescript (a course is split in lessons and the development of each lesson includes creating three markdown files guiding the user through the theory of a given topic, the instructions and correct solution to successfully complete a lesson and, lastly, the unit and integration tests required to programmatically validate a user's solution. We estimate the workload would require roughly 90 developer-hours to be completed at a rate of 100usd per hour and an additional 1000usd for additional costs ranging from devops infra maintenance to a budget to promote the course across different social media channels. The total budget we'd like to request is therefore 10.000.
