Please standby for my campaign commercial for Council of Advisors: INT. BASEMENT - DAY *We open on a based man sitting at his desk. He stops writing code for a moment to turn to the camera.* JOE Oh, hi. I didn’t see you there. NARRATOR (V.O.) He did. JOE (CONT’D) I’m Joe and when I’m not playing a podcaster on your portable digital device you might know me as the guy who wrote a viral post about supporting builders (https://twitter.com/joespano_/status/1690406276113563648). *Joe stands up from his desk and walks slowly towards the camera.* JOE (CONT’D) Since January of 2022 I have been one-half of the #1 American co-hosted NEAR-based podcast. Through Ready Layer One, we have put out tons of podcasts highlighting projects in the ecosystem and educational content... *Cut to side camera* JOE (CONT’D) Even some rugs [laughs]. *Back to main camera* JOE (CONT’D) But enough about that, through my time I have personally helped advise projects, contributed to helping other devs, and been an active on multiple channels around the technology of NEAR. I maintain a validator that was earned through Stake Wars III and am actively building ShardDog, the easiest way to onboard someone to your project and to NEAR. EXT. OUTSIDE SIDEWALK *Joe, walking his dogs, heads towards the camera continuing his monologue. Sounds of eagles and children playing are in the background.* JOE (CONT’D) But enough about these achievements, I am qualified for this role due to my experience as a multiple time co-founder, multiple decades as a developer NARRATOR (V.O.) If the bags under his eyes didn’t already give it away JOE (CONT’D) And experience writing grants. I believe in fast and clean user experiences. The blockchain is not an excuse for a slow/poor experience. Users should get the benefits of the open web without feeling like they are back in 1996 having to dial-in. NARRATOR (V.O.) Great reference for anyone over 38 years old. JOE We need products that guide users into web3. Products that show the power of web3, not the ponzinomics everyone derides. EXT. PARK - MAGIC HOUR Joe continues talking as he climbs the ladder for a very large slide and slides down. He pops up right in front of the camera’s view. JOE Economic growth needs to come from engaging a new and existing user base. Helping projects find new ways of monetizing and leveraging the available token systems that exist on NEAR. *While still talking Joe bends down to pickup some empty cans left on the park grass.* JOE We have unexplored income opportunities with validators and financial models that are not possible in Web2. Also, we need products that people will use, and sometimes it’s as simple as taking a product everyone knows already but making it feel more accessible or just cooler. *Joe stops to have a fake conversation with a group of young professionals. They are all fake laughing.* NARRATOR (V.O.) Maybe we should continue. *Joe stops the fake conversation.* JOE It’s also taking items like defi and making it feel safe and straightforward for anyone to use. Like with the validator model, we need to develop different financial use cases and show that it’s not just defi driving economic growth. Let’s help show that web3 business models are sustainable and a net positive for society. INT. CONVENIENCE STORE DRINK AISLE *Joe grabs a water from the refrigerated wall and continues walking slowly down the aisle.* JOE Economic growth also needs to come from engaging a project’s user base. Helping projects find new ways of monetizing and leveraging the available token systems that exist on NEAR. Like these bottles of water, they are all water but not really the same experience. NARRATOR (V.O.) They are the same experience, just different labels. JOE This leads into marketing... EXT. LAS VEGAS STRIP - NIGHT *Joe continues his awkward slow walk towards the camera among the bright lights and sounds of Las Vegas. People passing by are confused why he is walking so slowly while talking into the camera.* JOE (CONT’D) Like Las Vegas did (and maybe still does), all of crypto has an image problem. There is a lot more to just being a degenerate in Las Vegas. The same applies to crypto. As a community we need to work together to change these perceptions. Help support projects that help realize the promise of the open web. Projects that help give access to those who may not have it. Projects that help unite communities. INT. BASEMENT *Joe is back at his desk ready to nerd it up.* JOE (CONT’D) It’s a critical time for NEAR and all of crypto. We need people who can help guide the next generation of projects, not just write checks. As the quote goes, “just ship baby”. NARRATOR (V.O.) This is not an actual quote. JOE A vote for me is a vote for an experienced professional and for someone who has learned from failures and earned some successes.
