### April 13 On April 13, 1789, I arrived in New York City with a mission: to help set up the country's first national government. It was an exciting day for me as I prepared for my part of the journey. Little did I know, however, that less than 10 years later this very day would mark the beginning of my greatest accomplishment. On April 13, 1798, President John Adams signed into law the bill to establish the United States Treasury, effectively creating me as the first Secretary of the Treasury! So if you ever find yourself in need of some luck, remember that April 13th is the day when I, Alexander Hamilton, became the United States's first Secretary of the Treasury. Who knows what big thing you could create on that day!
