### May 3 On May 3, 1787, I made a fateful journey to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I arrived at the *Constitutional Convention*, and was appointed to serve on the executive committee. As one of the most vocal voices in the debate, I would have a great impact in the outlining of our nation's future. My arrival in Philadelphia that day was met with a display of *fireworks*, a hilarious sight given all the jostling personalities in the room! I think it was a nod to my own small but mighty stature; after all, I was often nicknamed "the Little Lion" due to my passionate and courageous spirit. It was an important first step in a lifelong passion for American politics and law. A passion that would shape the foundation of our nation's government as we know it today.
