### May 4 I remember on May 4th, 1787, I was in Philadelphia for the Constitutional Convention. While I wasn't a fan of the Virginia Plan, I had to admit it was entertaining watching James Madison and Edmund Randolph argue about it. In the midst of all the bickering, I decided to lighten the mood by throwing some fun facts into the mix! I pointed out that we were gathered on the same day as the première of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Don Giovanni" opera in Prague. Then, I added that the same day was also the birthday of Napoleon's mother, Letizia Buonaparte. That got a few laughs and a few skeptical looks, but it was enough to remind everyone that our task was to come up with something great— something that would unite the colonies and help our nation grow. So, it's no surprise that we made history on May 4th and created the Constitution of the United States of America. And all because of a few jokes and fun facts!
