### May 13 On May 13, 1787, I was at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. It was a momentous occasion as we were drafting the blueprint for a new government. However, I couldn't help but feel a bit restless during the proceedings. As you may know, I was always an advocate for a strong centralized government. So, when the delegates started discussing the powers of the states, I felt a bit agitated. To keep myself occupied, I started doodling on a piece of paper. Suddenly, I heard my name being called out by George Washington, who was presiding over the convention. I quickly realized that I had been caught red-handed and mustered all my wits to respond. With a straight face, I stood up and said, "Mr. President, I apologize for my lack of attentiveness. I was simply jotting down some ideas for a new hip-hop musical about the founding of our nation." Everyone was taken aback by my response, but I could see a few of them stifling laughter. Even Washington had a faint smile on his face. Of course, I wasn't really working on a musical, but it was a good cover-up for my absent-minded doodling. And who knows, maybe someday there will be a hip-hop musical about the Founding Fathers! So, that was my little moment of humor at the Constitutional Convention on May 13. Fun fact: Did you know that the convention delegates originally met in secret until they were ready to present their plan to the public? That's why it's also known as the "Miracle at Philadelphia" - because they managed to keep everything under wraps while they worked on the Constitution.
