**💡What is the Transparency Commission ?** - Now #NEAR is preparing for the elections. **What kind of elections? Yesterday we already talked about NDC, and today we will remind you again👇** @neardigitalcollective.near is a new decentralized Community Treasure governance system where the community will decide where the funding goes. To achieve this goal, the #NDC holds leadership elections. **There are three nominations, we have already considered two, today we are considering the third:** - 🔹House of Merit 🔹Council of Advisors 🔹Transparency Commission **What is the Transparency Commission's role?** It safeguards the ecosystem against harmful participants, preventing cartels, biased proposals, and attempts to deplete treasury funds. It does this by examining grievances from ecosystem participants. The Commission can investigate and remove members from groups and dissolve sources of concern. If this impairs the house's efficiency, the Voting Body can disband it for fresh elections. The Voting Body can also act against the Commission if it misuses its authority. **The Transparency Commission (TC) has four main jobs:** **1.** They deal with people who are not following the rules or are only thinking about themselves. **2.** They handle cases where someone is not good at their job and should not be part of the group anymore. **3.** They check if people who want to be part of the leadership group are suitable. **4.** They make sure everyone knows what's happening, including how money is used and if people are being honest. When the Congress is in session, the Transparency Commission listens to complaints, picks which ones to look into, and checks them. Then, only the Transparency Commission can decide to continue checking, remove someone from the group, or keep them in the group. **And now in a very simplified form:** * House of Merit - budget planning * Council of Advisors - HoM budget consultation and VETO power * Transparency Commission - protects the ecosystem from harmful participants ❗️To become one of the advisors you must be making an active contribution in the #Near ecosystem and have an OG SBT.❗️ **⏰ Sep 7 Deadline for candidacy submissions.** **⏳ Election Period: Sep 8th – Sep 22nd** To run for office, you need an **OG SBT** and a passion for NEAR's decentralization.
