## Announcing changes to the account creation cost on mainnet Hi everyone, Nearcore 1.32.0 release is going to happen in a few weeks and there are some exciting features in the new release, including meta transaction and zero balance accounts, which are crucial to building an amazing onboarding experience for users. One thing to note, however, is that the introduction of zero balance accounts increases the account creation cost by 7.5Tgas. We analyzed the current contracts on mainnet and found that the only existing contract that may be affected is the one deployed on `near`. We will handle the update of that contract and we believe as a result, no existing cross contract calls will be broken. However, users need to attach more gas to function calls that create accounts and account creation transactions.
