Hi everyone, today the NEAR ecosystem celebrates 3 years since the community voted to launch MainNet! I am only slightly less tired than I was that day in 2020, but I’m also excited about how far we’ve come and how much we’ve built. Today, NEAR has: 700K daily active users 1.7 million daily transactions 3.1 million monthly active wallets 30.5 million accounts 404 million transactions 2 of the top 5 consumer apps in Web3: Kai-Ching & Sweat Economy 11,500+ BOS components 34 protocol upgrades $430 million in external capital raised by NEAR projects 2 amazing NEARCONs with the biggest one yet in just 3 weeks These are really impressive numbers by any measure in Web3, though of course the success of a global, decentralized community goes beyond numbers and stats. We’ve also taken on many challenges that can’t be measured, like committing to decentralized governance experiments, evolving to meet changing market conditions, and supporting public goods. I’m also confident today that NEAR is the best network for building mainstream consumer applications in all of Web3. Usability has always been the core focus for NEAR, and it’s a constant improvement process that is yielding impressive results. From sharding and the account model, to B.O.S and decentralized frontends & FastAuth, NEAR has innovated on many fronts. We’ve accomplished a lot in 3 years. Thank you to every member of our ecosystem for all of your time and effort. A lot has changed and will keep changing, but one thing is constant: our collective vision to empower all people to own their assets, data, and power of governance as part of a global Open Web. I hope you are all as motivated as I am to make this vision a reality. We have the tech, we have the talent across the ecosystem, so let’s keep going.
