Blogpost #01/2024 # Hey There I am back posting on here, it's been a one year break from crypto, NEAR and everything associated with it. What I do wanna do now is get back at documenting my journey from 0 to 1, trying to build smart contracts on NEAR and building a good front end for doing so. # I tried again Wanted to deploy my first contract besides hello_near with a frontend in the NEAR Docs tutorials, and it didn't work. I have no prior projects experience and am just a computer science student, and couldn't get it to run. Meh # Back to the drawing board After my initial frustration I decided that I had to brush up my skills in every aspect, so I will do some courses. Mainly a React and a Rust course to get me started. I stumbled upon https://scrimba.com/dashboard#overview and I was really flashed by their interface and "seemless user experience" (so buzzy). Also I was introduced back to Learn Near with their Developer Course which looks way more suitable to me than over a year ago. I will give it a shot after doing some React coding. # What's up with NEAR Social? I saw a premium subscription for 84 NEAR which would be 300$ - what's that about? I think that kind of sucks but please enlight me on the upsides of that Besides that, I am confused why the Markdown that you were able to use is not usable any more. # Goals My ETA for having finished courses and a nice frontend is probably somewhere end of February, because I dabble with smart contracts in the meantime, too. I will see how accurate this is going to be, but I don't wanna stress myself too much but rather do things properly. That's my random ramble coming pack - I look forward to sharing more in the future and bouncing ideas off each other. Good to be back!
