________________________________________ NEAR Protocol’s Security and privacy About Near NEAR Protocol is a smart contract-capable, public Proof-of-Stake blockchain that aims to act as a community-run cloud computing platform. NEAR Protocol is focused on creating a developer and user friendly platform. Near scales through its Nightshade sharding mechanism, similar to how Ethereum ultimately plans to scale. Also it’s Carbon Neutral, Like Ethereum. ________________________________________ NEAR protocol’s security and Privacy Since Near protocol is Decentralised that means, multiple people can collaborate to Keep the chain safe. And these people are known as Delegators. This collaboration is consensus mechanism, that’s how the validator’s agree to the digital ledger’s correct shared state to prevent big attacks on chain. Near Uses TPos ( Threshold Pos) consensus mechanism to secure fund. Validators stake (lock up) NEAR tokens in order to have the opportunity to process transactions, validate new blocks, and oversee other validators. Advantage of TPos over normal Pos:- No Pooling:- Because the rewards are directly proportional to the stake, there is no reason to pool stake or computational resources. In other words, because two accounts holding 10 tokens each receive the same rewards as one account holding 20 tokens, there is no reason for the two accounts holding 10 tokens to team up, as is often the case with PoS blockchains like Ethereum. This improves the decentralization and security of the chain. Less Forking:- Forks are possible only when there is a severe network split in which less than ⅓ of the adversaries are present, which helps keep transaction finality times low and the chain’s security high. Security:- It is very challenging to attack a TPoS chain as the attacker must obtain the private keys from those who hold ⅔ of the total stake amount over the two days in the past. For all intents and purposes, this is an impossible task. Near foundation also Partenered with ELLIPTIC to enhance on chain security. Data Security of User Near and it’s service providers have implemented measures intended to secure user’s personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, the safety and security of user’s information also depends on them. They have given user a password for access to certain parts of the Website, the Apps and the Tools, user is responsible for keeping this password confidential. Near or it’s partner’s ask not to share your password with anyone and to change your password from time to time. Near and their service providers also highly recommend that use a password that is dissimilar to and cannot be easily found by unauthorized third parties who may have obtained your login credentials to other sites. Keep in mind that if you use the same password for all websites, if someone obtains your credentials for one site, they may be able to then use those credentials to log into any other site you use. That’s it for now. I hope you got some useful knowledge about Near protocol’s security from this Article. Please Correct me, if you find something Wrong.
