SUMMARY We are building an educational initiative to introduce blockchain technology at Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU) in Tanzania. The program will consist of a two-week introductory course, combining blockchain foundations with applied hands-on training. The course will be free for students and taught in person by experienced instructors. OBJECTIVE The project operates as a non-profit educational initiative. All courses are free for students, with funding sought through grants, partnerships with blockchain foundations, and sponsorships. Our goal is to create a permanent program for blockchain education, train students and connect them to the global blockchain community to find career opportunities in Web3. FUNDING The funds will be used to cover travel and accommodation for instructors, compensation for teachers, and production of learning materials. TEAM The project is a collaboration between POMA (https://pomaprotocol.com/), RUCU (https://rucu.ac.tz/), and the Italian NGO Working for Wasa (https://workingforwasa.com/). POMA - POMA has organized different blockchain training programs, undertaking coding intensive bootcamp, workshops, online coding sessions, interviews etc. RUCU University is one of the main universities in Tanzania, with over 5,000 students enrolled across different disciplines. Working for Wasa has been active in Tanzania for over 10 years, supporting 300+ students per year through its educational programs and providing 200+ scholarships.
